Robotics Engineering Excellence
(re, Inc.), located in Pittsburgh, PA, is a woman-owned Carnegie Mellon spin-off specializing in agile defense robotics with an emphasis on JAUS compliant software and intelligent manipulation for mobile robotic platforms. As a defense subcontractor re has contributed to the development of mobile robotic technologies for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the Army's Rapid Equipping Force (REF), The Office of Naval Research (ONR) and the Marine Corps, just to name a few.

The company is currently developing intelligent manipulation systems, including the Small Robot Toolkit and the Dexterous Manipulation System. re is also promoting unmanned systems interoperability via its RE2 JAUS Software Development Kit. The RE2 JAUS SDK takes the guesswork out of JAUS compliance. We've created our SDK to be a comprehensive, yet low-cost, solution to enable organizations to quickly and painlessly make their unmanned systems JAUS compliant.

We aim to become a regionally and nationally recognized robotics firm and to continue the tradition of robotics excellence within Western Pennsylvania. We plan to achieve this by employing world-class robotics engineers, strengthening our relationships with prime defense contractors and research universities, and securing our own small business research grants. We strive for growth by attracting talented engineers to the Pittsburgh region, creating technical and non-technical jobs, and maintaining annual profitability.
