Software Engineer

If you are a technologist specializing in robotic systems, and you have an entrepreneurial spirit, RE2 Robotics has the perfect role for you. The Software Engineer position is open to people who are passionate about developing the next generation of autonomous robotics.

Position Summary

RE2 Robotics has become a leading developer of mobile manipulation by working closely with universities, research institutes, and the federal government to create manipulation systems that are light-weight, rugged, and powerful. Through our research, we have developed manipulators that are highly dexterous and easily controlled. In our vision, the next horizon to mobile manipulation is the addition of greater autonomy of the system so that our systems can run with less supervision and in environments with highly limited bandwidth. The person filling the Software Engineer role will help us turn this vision into a reality.

Primarily, the Software Engineer will be responsible for developing software and firmware for use in a variety of products and projects. This position requires someone who can learn, develop, dream up and apply new techniques for novel problems focused on controlling robotic manipulators. The following are required for this position.

  • M.S. or B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or other related field

  • Minimum of 2 years of industry work experience in robotics, industrial control or related field

  • Must be U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Computer Vision Engineer

The Computer Vision Engineer position is open to people who are passionate about developing the next generation of autonomous robotics.

Senior Mechanical Engineer

RE2 is looking for an energetic and creative Senior Mechanical Engineer with experience in the design of electro-mechanical systems (preferably robotic systems) to help lead the design of our next generation of manipulation systems.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer (SME) works in a cooperative team environment with other mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software engineers, designers and technicians to create light-weight, dexterous, and powerful mobile manipulation systems for DoD and commercial applications.   2. Proficiency in integrated system design and analysis using 3D CAD/CAE, to include structural and thermal analysis, drive train design, motor specification, material/finish selection, and manufacturing processes.

Principal Research Scientist

The Principal Research Scientist position embodies both a strong technical element as well as the opportunity to build a thriving business unit in a rapidly growing company.

RE2 Robotics has become a leading developer of mobile manipulation by working closely with universities, research institutes, and the federal government to create manipulation systems that are light-weight, rugged, and powerful. Through our research, we have developed manipulators that are highly dexterous and easily controlled. In our vision, the next horizon to mobile manipulation is the addition of greater autonomy of the system so that our systems can run with less supervision and in environments with highly limited bandwidth. The Principal Research Scientist will be a leader within RE2 to help us turn this vision into a reality.

Primarily, the Principal Research Scientist will be responsible for leading the technical development of autonomy and vision processing algorithm development. In addition, the ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit to help shape the direction of the company in this important area, help develop business cases, write proposals, and lead teams/projects to further our autonomy applications.

At a fundamental level, the following requirements are absolute for this position:

  • Ph.D. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or other related field with a minimum of 5 years of progressive research experience in artificial intelligence, automation, and/or vision processing

  • Experience in the ability to convince investment in a new idea or concept based on said research

  • Must be U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
