Employee Spotlight - Aaron

What project(s) are you currently working on, and what do you find interesting or exciting about this project and/or its resulting technology?

I work on all projects as I am in a support role for all functions of RE2. I find that when I get a chance to create or design a piece of the technology, I feel I am helping most.

What do you enjoy most about working at RE2?

I enjoy the flexibility and ability to get out of the mundane routine of everyday paperwork and be able to design, create, and have hands on again with technology and making a difference.

Where did you go to school/receive your training?

I am self-taught and have 20 years of on- the-job training. I think working in a machine shop for 10+ years as a young 20-something-year-old know-it-all put a lot of things in order for me. Having the on-the -job training and the experiences I have had really helped me become a great leader and hard worker with pride in the work I do.

What other jobs have you held?

I have also been a CNC programmer / engineer for a local Tool and Die company for almost 11 years. At this job I had customers like Kennametal, Remington Arms, Kyocera, and many others. I have also been a Conveyor Belt designer for a worldwide mining company.

When you're not working on robots, how do you enjoy spending your time?

I enjoy car racing, being outdoors, camping and RVing.

Where do you see robotics going in the next 25 years?

I see the technology becoming easier to produce and cheaper for the consumer. I see the healthcare market (home and in hospital wards) and the toy/gaming market as two areas to watch for a boom in major revenue in robotics in the upcoming 25 years.
