End-Effector Interface Family for the AEODRS Program

The End-Effector Interface Family (E2IF) provides a consistent and modular end-effector interface design across all three vehicle classes of the Advanced EOD Robotic System (AEODRS) program. The E2IF design has a number of important features, including being scalable, lightweight, strong, capable of transmitting high electrical currents and high-data rate signals. E2IF is based on rugged and proven technology. The quick-release interface supports automatic tool change for the two larger classes and manual tool change for all classes. The E2IF system also provides adaptors so that smaller tools can be used on any larger manipulator. The E2IF design for the Dismounted, Tactical, and Base classes weighs 0.40, 0.98, and 3.51 pounds, respectively, and is capable of carrying loads of 10, 110, and 400 pounds.
